The Troubadour is an authentic 1950s coffee house, established in 1954. In the 1960s and 1970s it played host to musicians such as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. It now combines a cafe with a live music venue, delicatessen and first floor gallery. The Troubadour Gallery hosts regular exhibitions of contemporary art. The Gallery is available for hire. The Troubadour Gallery is an elegantly proportioned room available to hire for art exhibitions. Located on the first floor above the Troubadour Deli the room is classically decorated with wooden floors, generous but plain cornice and skirting, large windows and high ceilings. With its own entrance and cloakrooms, The Gallery benefits from peace and quiet, away from the buzz of the Troubadour Caf.
It offers an ideal space for exhibitions of all kinds. There is natural light from both North and South, as well as track-mounted adjustable spot lighting. The brilliant Boyer Top Rail - beautifully explained and illustrated on our supplier's site www.system-marketing.co.uk/ provides the best possible hanging system. We installed it on advice from a director of the National Gallery.
The Gallery is available to hire for any exhibition duration. Needless to say the advantage of a Gallery attached to a caf is that the catering for the private views could not be easier to organise.
